Who we are looking for

The podcast is conversations with Japanese people, and with people who have spent most of their life in Japan. Everything on the show comes back to that everyday, lived experience of the country.

This is the right show for you if

  • You were born and raised in Japan
  • You were born elsewhere, but Japan is where you grew up
  • You were born in Japan, spent time abroad, and Japan is still home
  • Japan is where you have spent most of your life

If you have spent less than about ten years in Japan, this is probably not the right show for you. That is no reflection on you at all — we simply have a very particular show in mind, and the first two questions on the form ask about exactly this.

Where were you born and raised? (required)

The podcast is conversations with people from Japan, so we ask this first. Pick whichever comes closest.

How much of your life have you spent in Japan? (required)

If you have spent less than ten years in Japan, this is probably not the right show for you.

Leave this unticked if it does not apply. Either way is fine, and it is not needed to take part.

How confident are you speaking English? (required)

There is no right answer, and a low number will not count against you.
